This single cultivar Okumidori from Shizuoka opens with a gentle sweetness, evoking apple blossom and wild strawberries. As it settles on the palate, a soft, creamy finish emerges, particularly when enjoyed with milk. The creaminess harmonizes with the floral and fruity notes, revealing a delicate pine nut nuance that lingers with each sip.

This matcha is produced by a trusted chashi (tea master), Yamazaki-san, and his team in Shizuoka. Guided by a commitment to safety and trust, they have developed their own soil-building practices in pursuit of better tea. Crafted exclusively from the Okumidori cultivar, this matcha is not only exceptional in flavor and aroma, but also a clear reflection of their dedication and care. We are honored to bring this matcha to you.

"Okumidori from Shizuoka"

HOLY SH*T I was not expecting this to be so good. I got the okumidori matcha cause of the cute packaging and strawberry notes, at $30ish I was like why not? IM SHOCKED at how much I liked it. I’ve been to Japan 5 times and this reminds me of the matcha I’ve had over there. And I even got a cute straw with my order :’) definitely ordering again!!

"Okumidori from Shizuoka"

A balanced and floral powder, which is great for everyday lattes. Totally a bang for your buck. RB’s okumidori is crafted perfectly well that it just climbed up my top okumidori faves. Honestly, another great product from them!

"Okumidori from Shizuoka"

Getting down to business [🎼to de-feat/the Huuuuuuns🎶]: this matcha is incredibly versatile and fun. You’ll discover the widest range of flavour notes if you take the time to truly “play” with it, using different ratios and mediums! When I first made this, I was very heavy-handed on the matcha — thinking that was the way to taste all the notes — and I made it as a large, iced latte. This resulted in a more vegetal and umami (the pine nut notes) profile. It did play well with both strawberry and white chocolate syrups when I wanted to dial up the sweetness/strawberry I was craving. I also found my brown butter toffee syrup, something with a “salty”note, was even more complimentary to it. I’m sure a salted caramel version would be a hit, too. I was pretty confident the floral notes were hiding in there somewhere, though, so I kept experimenting. To get those notes to really sing, I turned to water alone, at a lower temperature, and used a quite dilute ratio. (When I say dilute, I mean it’s going to look more like a loose leaf/bagged green tea vs. a matcha. This may not be for everyone, but if you like a light, gentle brew of green tea, it’s going to be a beautiful, aromatic cup, I promise.) This matcha has taught me: that I didn’t have the slightest what apple blossom was supposed to taste like at first, that I overestimated how much strawberry I might get (after a lifetime of artificial strawberry flavours, the matcha bears no guilt in this); and that the journey of discovery with this one is where the joy is! I’ll absolutely buy more of this varietal. Give it a try, and you’ll love it, too!

If your founder personally reads all of these reviews tell them I would kiss them on the mouth for the amazingly sourced and branded matcha. Also would kiss the customer service team onthe mouth for the exceptional help and care when part of my order was missing from a heavily damaged package. I also never got to receive my valentines stickers with my order so I hope you do them again next year.

I love the flavor of this matcha!! I got their other flavor, the can that’s white, but this one is so much sweeter. Would buy again.

"Okumidori from Shizuoka"

I'm not usually one of those people who genuinely tastes the notes within a drink - however, with this matcha I can genuinely taste and smell the notes of strawberry, appleblossom, and pine. I truly love this matcha, my first introduction into Rebel Bunny Matcha, and not my last order!
