Produced exclusively from the Gokou cultivar, this matcha is defined by its distinctly marine-driven profile and commanding structure. On the nose and palate, it opens with a clean sea-mist freshness, followed by nori-like umami and a full-bodied weight with mineral depth reminiscent of warm stone.

This Gokou is grown by the Koyama family in Ujitawara, Kyoto, a historic heartland of Uji tea production. Gokou is an Uji-born cultivar prized for its refined, seaweed-like fragrance and depth of umami. It is a cultivar, traditionally reserved for gyokuro and high-grade matcha. This matcha is so violently green I thought I accidentally made some radioactive potion. Nope. It’s just the best matcha I’ve ever had. The smell? Insane. The taste? Deep…creamy perfection that makes every other matcha taste emotionally unavailable. This is for REAL matcha people. The “if you know you know” crowd. It gives EVERYTHING matcha needs to give…amplified x1000. I’m also not responsible if you sell your car to fund your Rebel Bunny Gokou addiction. That’s your business. But hey, maybe you’ll become a runner and suddenly matcha + running becomes your entire personality 🤷🏻‍♂️ ***Also pro tip before Rebel Bunny legally bans me from the website..get 2 tins + a straw and you unlock the free matcha kit. Gave it to a girl as a gift, she become a full on rebel bunny junkie, she sold her car, her dog, her company provided laptop. Last I heard she was panhandling for matcha. I miss her.
