The daily-drinker FAQ

Matcha questions, answered

What makes a matcha good for daily drinking?

A matcha for daily drinking should taste satisfying often, work with the way you actually drink it, and come in a size that does not disappear after a few bowls.

Which matcha region is best in milk? For example, is Yame or Uji better for lattes?

Neither region is automatically better. Beyond region, cultivars, processing methods and craftsmanship significantly matter too. Yame matcha is often described as rounded, creamy and quietly nutty, while Uji & wider Kyoto are known for layered depth and refined umami. Shizuoka and Kagoshima also produce exceptional matcha with their own distinct character. Taste is personal. Ultimately, the best matcha is the one you enjoy, prepared the way you like to drink it.

Is Rebel Bunny ceremonial grade matcha from Japan?

If by “ceremonial grade” you mean exceptional matcha from Japan, yes.

We don’t use the term “ceremonial grade” because there’s no official definition. It’s a Western marketing term anyone can use, not a regulated standard in Japan.

Instead, we label matcha like wine. Cultivar (the cultivated tea variety, similar to a grape variety), Origin (where it was grown/processed, much like Bordeaux or Burgundy), and Tasting Notes (from floral and fruity to nutty, oceanic, herbal and more).

How long does a 50g or 100g bag of matcha last?

Using about 2g per drink, a 50g pouch makes roughly 25 servings and a 100g pouch makes roughly 50. Your total will vary depending on how strong you make each bowl or latte.

Which matchas are available by subscription?

Products that can be scheduled for recurring delivery are marked “Subscription available” directly on their cards. Use the subscription filter to see only those matchas and keep your daily supply stocked.
