Matcha from Shizuoka
Shizuoka Matcha
Shizuoka matcha shaped by mountain air, coastal plains, cultivar, and the people who keep tea culture moving forward.
Matcha from Shizuoka
Our Shizuoka matcha comes through producer relationships across the prefecture: Kakegawa, Mori-machi, and Shizuoka City. It is a region of both plains and mountains, with Mount Fuji rising over one of Japan's most important tea landscapes, and a tea culture that moves between traditional craft and progressive production techniques. The same spring-fed mountain terrain also makes Shizuoka famous for wasabi.
Expect matcha that can move from bright and aromatic to deeper, grounded profiles, depending on cultivar, harvest, and how the tea was prepared.
Shizuoka is also the birthplace of Yabukita, the most widely grown tea cultivar in Japan.
