There is a particular kind of comfort in this matcha. Familiar yet unexpected, it brings together gentle sweetness and a soft, toasty warmth that feels somehow nostalgic.

Upon opening, a comforting aroma reminiscent of graham cracker is accompanied by the gentle fruitiness of apricot. Once whisked, a grounding, genmai-like aroma emerges, adding a subtle toasted dimension that carries beautifully onto the palate. Despite these deeper notes, the cup remains light and composed, with little bitterness and a clean, easy-drinking finish.

With milk, its graham cracker-like sweetness becomes even more pronounced, bringing to mind the comforting sweetness of milk left at the bottom of a bowl of cereal. Creamy, familiar, but quietly indulgent.

With this matcha, we wanted to share a profile unlike anything else currently in our lineup, and with it, a different kind of calm. The kind found in familiar flavors and the small comforts that make an ordinary day feel a little more special.

"Sayamakaori from Shizuoka"

I lovedddd this matcha! It comes off initially as fruity, and then I started picking up on those sweet, warm flavors. By the time I finished my latte, this matcha tasted floral yet super creamy. This matcha is not super umami-forward imo, so I think it’s perfect for a sweet latte. Very little astringency, and the bitterness it did have was balanced well by the warm notes and creaminess. OH AND THE COLOR! This powder was stunninggg! I prepared it as koicha, a whole milk latte, and a coconut milk latte, and it was amazing as koicha and a whole milk latte. The creamy dairy milk pairs so perfectly with the graham cracker note. I wouldn’t recommend the coconut milk, as it masks the completely of flavors (especially the fruity notes). I also think this matcha would be delicious as a fruity latte with strawberry, peach, or mango. phenomenal matcha!
