Ohbuku Okumidori from Kyoto
日本産
Single Cultivar:
Okumidori
Single Estate:
Koyama Family Farm, Ujitawara, Kyoto
Notes:
Kale • Konbu • Raw Chestnut
Preparations:

Opening with a dry aroma reminiscent of konbu, the profile shifts toward a clean, vibrant greenness once whisked, accompanied by the delicate sweetness of a fresh chestnut just cracked open. One the palate, it is defined by remarkable clarity and an elegant bitterness that feels structured rather than assertive. The overall impression is one of purity and quiet complexity.

Produced exclusively in Ohbuku, a small district within Ujitawara, Kyoto, this single estate matcha is available only in very limited quantities. The tea reflects the uncompromising approach of its producers, Yoshinori-san and Yukako-san. Learn more about the producers and the story behind this matcha in our journal.

"Ohbuku Okumidori from Kyoto"

Rebel Bunny matcha that makes you immediately question how many tins is considered “too many.” Their ability to keep dropping banger after banger needs to be studied. 😂 This matcha is ridiculously good. Super clean, vibrant, and savory. There’s a little bitterness, but it’s elegant way not harsh AT ALL. Yeah… 5 stars. Again. R.B., save some bangers for everybody else. Jk dont.
